Impermanence | Day 8

I’ve learned so much from my mistakes, I think I’m going to go out there and make some more.

How I used to think before is entirely different to how I think now. What I felt to be true to me then isn’t as valid in this moment.

Does that make me a chameleon? Ever changing?
Does that mean I am so lost as to who I am that I become so many me’s?

It strikes me as humbling that we are truly allowed to change, transform into different versions of ourselves – depending on the circumstances we are faced, depending on the mistakes we have made. All we need to do is let go of what once was. Nothing is permanent. Much like the fleeting clouds.

We are allowed to let go of beliefs instilled on us when we were growing up. We are in fact, allowed to rewrite them according to what feels right for us at any given moment. It is also not to say that we keep switching, like try this or try that; oh, they did this, they did that. The same obstacle will remain and keep repeating until we take time to listen to our true nature. Let all our senses guide us; not just what we hear or see externally. Not everything that’s out there is the truth of what we seek. What may be true to others is not necessarily true to you, and vice-versa.

There is a voice inside of you
That whispers all day long,
“I feel this is right for me,
I know that this is wrong.”
No teacher, preacher, parent, friend
Or wise man can decide
What’s right for you–just listen to
The voice that speaks inside.
~ Shel Silverstein

Epiphany:

The pitch of the voice changes. It varies its tone. And that’s alright. The key is learning to flow along with your own rhythm, whatever your impermanent music is… tune in to intuition.

Namaste. =)
